About Guatape
Guatape is famous for two things: the towering El Penol Rock (740 stairs to the top for panoramic views of the reservoir), and the town's incredibly colorful zocalos — hand-painted bas-relief panels decorating every building. It's one of Colombia's most photogenic towns and Medellin's most popular day-trip destination.
