Book a transfer from Vienna to Bratislava — the two closest capital cities in Europe, separated by just 60 km along the Danube River.
The 60 km journey takes just 1 to 1.5 hours via the A4/D2 motorway, crossing the Austrian-Slovak border. The route follows the Danube basin through flat agricultural land, with views of the Little Carpathian mountains as you approach Bratislava.
Bratislava is a charming compact capital set where the Danube meets the Little Carpathians. Its small but beautifully restored old town features the iconic Bratislava Castle perched above the river, St. Martin's Cathedral, quirky bronze street sculptures (Cumil the sewer worker is a favorite), and Michael's Gate. The city offers excellent Slovak cuisine, vibrant craft beer and wine scenes (Slovak wine is an underrated gem), and a youthful energy from its large student population. It's also significantly more affordable than nearby Vienna.
