Barcelona Airport (BCN) to Barcelona: how to make this journey

Arriving at El Prat, the metro runs from inside your own terminal — but it is the one option that will not accept an ordinary ticket, and it will not reach the centre without a change. The ordinary city bus is cheaper and the Aerobús is the only one that goes straight to Plaça Catalunya. Which of them suits you comes down mostly to your luggage and how late you land.

Figures are quoted from the numbered sources below and were last checked on 2026-08-27. Operators change prices and timetables without notice — check the provider’s own page before you travel.

At the airport / station

  • Ordinary single tickets and T-casual are not valid at Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 — the Airport ticket is a separate, non-integrated fare [3]
  • The Airport ticket covers one metro journey including the airport stations and the rest of the metro network, for one person [3]

The booking on this page suits you if

  • Arriving with more luggage than you want to carry through two metro changes
  • Landing late, or with a group, where a fixed price beats a queue
  • Going somewhere the L9 Sud interchanges do not serve conveniently

Consider something else if

  • You are travelling light and your hotel is near an L1, L3, L5 or L10 Sud station
  • You are heading to Plaça Catalunya itself — the Aerobús runs there directly from your terminal
  • You are on a budget and not in a hurry — bus 46 to Plaça Espanya costs the ordinary city fare

Before you book

Good to know

  • Who you are booking with. BookShuttles.com compares transfer listings; the ride is operated by a third-party company and the booking is completed on the provider’s site.
  • What varies by listing. Vehicle and group size, luggage allowance, pickup and drop-off points, child seats, accessibility, and the cancellation window are set by each operator and shown on the individual listing — check them there before paying.
  • Prices and journey times. Live prices come from the provider. Where this page states a journey time or distance it names the source it came from and the date it was checked; where it does not, we have not verified one and deliberately show nothing.
  • Something wrong? Tell us and we will correct or remove it.
